VENOM (941), Connecticut, USA Jul 31, 2002 Clear dark amber. Fat and foamy beige head. Steady carbonation. Aroma of toasted malts, toffee and fresh hay. Initially malty and soft with a mellow body and gentle carbonation. Solid dose of toasted, caramelly, grainy malts with a long finish and aftertaste. Medium light body. Grassy, hay like hop bitterness and flavor. Not forceful, but provides adequate balance. Mostly dry with hints of almonds and wet walnut skins. Finishes drier, nuttier and with a slight chocolate hint. Solid, but I would’ve liked more of a German hop bite.
Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 20, 2008 Clear light amber pour with a tall frothy white head that clings the glass towards heaven. Simplistic aroma where raw grain is the dominant feature. Light malt sourness evolves towards a mild fruitiness, but individual flavours are impossible to pick up. No toastiness nor nuttiness involved and the hops are neglectable. Growingly bland by the sip despite its interesting creamy (albeit very light-bodied) palate. Mineral water concludes it all. Poor flavour extraction in this one. It’s hard to believe this came from the same brewers who put out such a nice schwarzbier. fakepurseninja (578), Washington, USA Oct 20, 2008 Terrible stuff. Why bother making beer if you can not make decent beer. This got bottled?? How did this make it passed QC? It was not a spoiled beer, just sucked whale ass. drfabulous (803), Columbia, Missouri, USA Oct 16, 2008 Almost undrinkable. Lots of Budweiser/Miller taste in this one. But fairly stale. One of the worst alts I’ve had. Little to no malt. Not much taste. FROTHINGSLOSH (1560), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2008 This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was sour, tangy and vegetal. The flavor was sour, tangy, malty and lightly vegetal with a touch of a fruity undertone. The finish was long and sour. Eh. bsm80 (105), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 7, 2008 bottle was amber, nutty malt aroma maybe something else, too simple, but crisp and decent
