COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American standard, BBC APA is a full bodied and heavily hopped American Ale. It is copper in color and brewed with a blend of pale and crystal malts, balancing the citrus and pine flavors from large doses of American and English hops to create a very drinkable, hoppy ale. BBC APA is a hophead’s dream!

Bottle. Very dark amber color, tan head. Aroma of floral pine, caramel biscuit. And someone wrote "morning breath" in my notebook, but it’s not my handwriting, so I won’t count it in the score. Taste is very bitter caramel.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Amber color with a smallish off-white head. Nice aromas of roasted caramel and fruit. Medium body with light, creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly roasted malt with some fruity bitter. It’s not a harsh bitter. With a little less ABV it might do as an ESB. Pretty good drink.

Bottle... Mine poured a mostly clear, orange/amber with a large, frothy, off-white head. Terrific retention. The aroma is equally malty and hoppy. Malty caramel and very light milk chocolate. Hoppy grapefruit, tropical fruit and pine. Hearty, malty flavor up front; followed closely by an abundance of American bittering hops. The result is a brew with good balance that leans just a little toward the bitter side of the scale. Full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Lengthy, moderately bitter finish. More body than any other ≤6% ABV beer I’ve ever tasted with the exception of Dark Horse’s Tres Blueberry Stout (4.5%).
