Actually, the aroma is fairly decent at first... as long as the beer is out of the fridge cold. Just a small touch of acetone. There really is some fruit-like lambic qualities (initially) to the nose. A bit leathery, some musty basement, some sort of fruit skin and pit (blackberry... not so much), but as it warms, the nailpolish remover really grabs hold and stings the nostrils. Pours a cloudy, dark peach with a thin ring of white around the sides of my glass. Time to sip... whaddya know? Tastes like ass, just like the other Bluegrass "Lambics!" Hardly any flavor at all. Maybe some alcoholic club soda tainted with blackberry stem. Ugh... I don’t even know what the hell to write about this beer. Shit... it’s really bad. Watery, slightly vegetal, no oak, no tannin, no acetic acid. Goddamn...
Yup... an hour later, it’s an acetone bomb. If you dare consume this, do it quickly and directly out of the fridge, as all of it’s "better qualities" are masked by ice cold-ness.
Thanks Josh... despite how shitty this beer is, it was actually on my wantlist, as I really want to see how poorly Fruit Lambics can be made by American brewers. Some can do it... others fall flat on their ass. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Sep 2, 2009 ( 750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy reddish brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of barnyard, cherry, blackberry, and some horseblanket. Thought with nice funky aroma it would be half way descent, but it was an utter train wreck. Taste is mostly concentrated carbonated soda water (the taste when the syrup runs out at soda station) with slight hints of fruit in the background. Not sure how a lambic can turn into this… Undrinkable. Tmoney99 (4731), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured a hazy redddish brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate sour & sweet blackberry and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium fruity sweet & sour flavor with a medium fruity sweet & sour finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met with this version.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 14, 2009 Against my better judgement (after the horrible experiences that were the Peche and Black Cherry lambics) I picked up a bottle of this the other day. Its part of the second lambic batch that BBC has put out. Despite the bad reviews of the first batches, the price actually went up for this batch (now @ $12.47 per bottle). Here we go... lets hope this one is better than the Peche and Black Cherry. Really lively pressure pop of the cap. Pours a strange, slightly murkey, redish brownish purpleish with a sudsy white head that doesn’t hold too long. The aroma is nice and juicy (very obviously blackberries) with a nice lactic bacteria aroma as well. Again, this one pretty much falls apart with the flavor. It isn;t nearly as bad as the others, but it has the same degree of diactyl and chemically quality coming through in the finish. Nice medium to light body with medium carbonation that prickles the tongue. Overall: what is wrong BBC? You all are really producing some good aromas with these lambics, but you must be using strange bugs, have funky (not the good funky) barrels, or some sort of infection in the brewhouse. Producing this and pricing it as is is pretty irresponsible IMO.
