COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BBC’s Bourbon Barrel Biere De Gard is brewed with imported French malts, Belgian candy syrup, and Saaz hops and aged in Woodford Reseeve bourbon barrels. This hazy orange colored ale has an aroma layered with sweet malt, bourbon and spicy yeast. The residual bourbon and charred oak add additional carmel and vanilla flavors and also lends a dryness to balance out the carmel and malt sweetness, with enough hop bitterness and alcohol presence to demand another sip. The finish is accented with mild notes of black pepper and cocoa notes.

(Draught) clearish orange with a ring of bubbles. Nose of caramel, bourbon, and brown sugar. Taste is a bit tart, caramel, funky cherry, alcohol, cinnamon and raisin. Great linger with a warming sensation.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 16/09/2010 Whisky aroma. Golden coloured smooth on the palate strong in alcohol and a little fruity with a hint of bitterness in a creamy malt finish.

Sampled from the tap at 2010 FOBAB. Poured a clear deep amber with an off-white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had sweet grains and bread with slight light fruit and bourbon backing. Flavor was full of biscuit and sweet grain with a slight earthy tone and bourbon coming out in the finish.

GABF. Light brown with nice head. Lots of bourbon, oak and vanilla in aroma and taste. Good, but nothing special.

Clear orange with a fizzy white head. Good strong fruit and bourbon aroma. Huge bourbon caramel vanilla and oak taste with tangy fruit tastes.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2010 Flat copper body with a short off-white head. Very strong bourbon aroma and bite. Sweet with a medium body. Mild barnyard behind the taxing watery bourbon bite.

Draft sample at Keg Liquor FOA. Poured clear copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate yeast, malt, wood and bourbon aroma. Medium to full body with a soft carbonation and a smooth texture. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

Lots of bourbon aroma and taste here. Enjoyed at the brewery on tap. Aroma is bourbon and vanilla. Hazy copper tone with little to no head. Spicy, peppery flavor drowned in Woodford bourbon. It is very dry with caramel malt sweetness backing up the bourbon.
