750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a deep copper color with reddish highlights and a small off white head. The nose has a nice smokiness that is not too overpowering. The rest is mild fruits and subtle barrel notes. The flavor is smoked malt, slight peat, toasted bread, the slightest hint of fruit and earthy. Soft finish, medium bodied. The smoke lingers for a while. Some nice parts, but they don’t always work well together,

Bottled, thanks to trade with Pawola22, dark cola amber with thick white foam, nice aroma of smokey malted ashtray, flavor is more smoked malt, reserved whiskey treatment, some nuts, nice beer

Good share from Patrick at Diego’s, very interesting beer. Nose has rich smokiness paired well with bourbon whiskey, although I may have actually thought it was JD if I didn’t know this were a Kentucky brewery. Very good nose. Taste holds the smoke in check and provides a more traditional, Helles-like malt character with subtle wisps of smoke and sweet bourbon. Very impressed.

750ml bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. Pours a cloudy, deeper red-amber colored body with an inch thick, dense and foamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is big on the smoked meat with a fruity backing and some nice bourbon-barrel notes. A good amount of caramel behind everything along with some raisin bread, vanilla, and dark fruits. Flavor is a bit more about the barrel up front, but still maintains a nice malty caramel with plenty of smoked meat. More vanilla especially up front along with a sweeter, light amount of bourbon. Caramel offers a nice sweetness along with dark fruits, some bread, and a light pepper. Finishes woody and smokey with a light-moderate, dry bitterness, but fairly sweet from the fruity caramels. A light vanilla-bourbon adds to a lengthy aftertaste following a medium-full, smooth body and very soft and creamy, moderate carbonation. Overall, a really nice, well-balanced, sweetly smoked beer with a pleasant vanilla-bourbon-wood. Very smooth, soft, and creamy while drying nicely with no hint of alcohol. I like this one a lot.

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a slightly hazy reddish color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty weak smokey aroma with hints of caramel. Fruity malty sweetish smoke flavor with hints of bourbon. Has a fruity malty smoke finish with woody barrel hints in the aftertaste.

Draught. Fluffy low white head. Clear amber body. Mild smoky malty aroma and flavor with a lowly base. Bourbon flavors subdued just like the smoke, would have expected hints of vanilla. Low carbonation and a long aftertaste.
