12 oz bottle. It doesnít look that great for a stout. There are carbonation bubbles that stick to the sides of my snifter. The head is fizzier than it should be. It doesnít look as thick and imposing as it should. The smell is sweet bourbon, not too much oak or stout scent. It has a ton of butterscotch in it too. This is one thin bourbon barrel stout. Dang. It tastes like guiness with some bourbon notes. It isnít too sweet. The mouthfeel is thin, not good for the style. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-16-2010 04:44:34

Bottle thanks to Robert. Pours black. Off tan head. Nose and taste of chocolate malt, vanilla and barrel. Slightly sweet. Plain. Decent.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is wonderful: bourbon, wood, chocolate, caramel, dark fruits. Flavor is still very good, but it doesnít live up to the aroma. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. But oh, that aroma.

Understated bourbon character on the tongue, slightly more pronounced on the nose. Nice obsidion color

12 oz bottle from a 4 pack. Pours nice and dark with a huge fluffy tan head. Nose is bit alcoholic, a little skunky. Not real appealing...Taste is a bit chocolately, very carbonated, just a little roasty and with delicate whiskey notes-you really do have hunt for the bourbon here. Alcohol is present. Body is very thin for a stout but there is a bit of fluffiness. I guess this isnít too bad but for the style it is really lacking.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma- Some roast, a little oak slight vanilla. Appearance- Opaque black with some creamy tan head. Flavor- Pretty dry perception due to roasthints of bittersweet chocolate and some oak. Canít seem to detect much bourbon. Bitter finish with a slight papery after taste.

Very deep brown and almost completely opaque, this is a nice looking beer w/ a decent head of off-white bubbles. Nose is roasty w/ a lightly vinous character. This is medium bodied w/ slightly overly vigorous carbonation. Consequently, the flavor comes off as a little thin though itís nice and roasty w/ just a touch of barrel character.

had this on draft- nice bourbon flavor - not playing with the big dogs in the bourbon stout arena but a good tasting brew.

12 oz bottle bought from a total wine in nova. Pours dark like a stout should. Very little if any head to speak off. Aroma had notes of bourbon and chocolate. Nice mouthfeel almost like pudding until I realized I couldnít taste much of anything. What a thin palate. I canít believe I have three more of these to drink.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Dandman629. Pours very black with a slight creamy looking cola head. Amazing bold aroma of black cherry and some dark chocolate notes as well. There is a definite alcohol aroma in the background. The flavor, compared to the aroma, is a bit of a let down. Very muted\restrained flavor of cocoa and espresso. Overall, itís easy drinking and not offensive. If the flavor could be brought up to match the amazing aroma, then this would definitely be a beer in the high 90ís
