Poured a thin white head. Great nose of oak and light bourbon. Tasted it and all my hopes were dashed. Extremely thin with slight vanilla and raisin.

12 oz bottle. The nose is of vanilla and malt. The flavor though is very light and thin. Slight coffee and oak flavor. Definitely not the type of stout Iím used to.

12oz bottle from Roof Brothers in Paducah, via ck1. Thanks bro! Pours black with a foamy brown head leaving some lacing. Aroma has cocoa, vanilla, molasses and some grape. Taste is of light sweet choc, light grape, caramel and faint oak. Medium bodied, dry and somewhat sweet - almost no alcohol presence. Finishes sweetly bitter and short. Now can understand why a bourbon barrel brew would not be an imperial.

Disguised as a good stout... Pleasant aroma, mellow flavor that hits the right notes, thin head but nice color... Way, way too thin... And I prefer a less chewy beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap. Deep dark color. Not much head. Aroma is burnt grains, vanilla, bourbon, slight coffee and chocolate. Taste is vanilla, roasted grains. Really good and tasty.

12 oz bottle with bottled date notched of April 2013. Solid pssffft upon prying the tap, and the oversized bubbly head both suggest an over-carbonated stout. Given the appearance, the aroma suggests this could be an infected bottle: it smels dank and sour. There is a hint of bourbon and maybe the dank is just from the oak barrel. ... (sips)... Definitely over-carbonated. Well, itís drinkable, barely, at best. ... (a few more sips) ... actually, I think Iíd rather pour this out and have a good beer.

On tap at GTMW 2013. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a thin brown crown. Aroma of toasted malts, chocolate, oak, vanilla and bourbon. Taste is dominated by the vanilla with chocolate, light oak and roasted malts.

Draft->taster at BBB Fest-Nashville. Pours near black with medium tan head. Smoke, roasted malt, bourbon, ash. Pretty good, but lacks depth.

Near black. Small tan head. A little lacing. Malty, chocolate, A little bourbon flavor the correct amount. a True stout drinker might look like this beer because it is a little thin but I like it a lot because it is well balanced and no aftertaste

Dark brown/black pour with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, and bourbon. Smooth flavor with nice oak notes and bourbon flavor. Lighter than you might expect but Iím ok with that. Abv is well-hidden too. Iíve been drinking this beer for so long thinking they just changed the label on the Jeffersonís Reserve stout but this is a different brew altogether apparently. Iíll need to revisit JR and compare. Solid brew.
