Pours an opaque black with small tan head leaving moderate lacing. Aroma up front is of sweet bourbon, oak roasted malt, espresso, hint of dark cherry. A little sweet, a little boozy. Medium body, slightly sticky mouthfeel. lightly bittersweet finish. This is surprisingly not a heavy beer, which is actually what I would hope for in my stouts. Starts out very solid, but the finish is not incredibly strong.

Pours a dark brown with a small light tan head and a bit of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and black liquorice. Taste is very much the same as the aroma with the bourbon coming through nicely and a great hop bitterness in the background. Bourbon is flavorful, but more subdued than expected. You’d never suspect this as being almost 9% alcohol as it is hidden quite well. Nice little alcohol burn in the finish and aftertaste of roasted malts and bourbon. Full body, thick and somewhat creamy, average carbonation. Very nice overall. Not nearly as strong tasting as most bourbon barrel stouts. Would love this if the bourbon and chocolate tastes were boosted.

Pours flat, dark black. old coffee beans and duct tape with some vanilla. very roasty with a lot of up front barley roast. Some espresso beans and hershey’s chocolate minus the sweetness. Very little barrel characters. MOuthfeel is thin.

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a somewhat slight tan head. Nose is roasty and filled with bourbon. Taste is actually lighter for the style and has a lot of roasting and bourbon. Interesting...

Appearance-pours dark brown with small, quickly dissipating head. Nose- bourbon dominates, sweet malt, hint of roast coffee. Taste-surprisingly heavy chocolate. Barely any bourbon in taste. Sweet, chocolate malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: dark brown, with a tiny brown head that fizzes quickly to nothing, and no lacing to speak of. Aroma: a bit of melted dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, with a whiff of whiskey. Taste: some boozy notes up front, then a hint of roast, vanilla, and chocolate. Finish: slight whiskey burn, and very mild roasty stout notes fading quickly. Notes: Not impressed at all. The flavors were incredibly light and the palate bordering on watery. I mean, I’ve made home-brews better than this, and I SUCK as a home brewer.

Nitro draft to taster at BBC on 3rd and Main (which is apparently aged in Four Roses Barrels for 90 days and nitroed, as opposed to different barrels for 30 days in bottles and at other locations). Looks good; cola with foamy beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; a nice balance of malt and bourbon with a slightly thin but creamy finish. Much better than the bottled version.
