The aroma is licorice, coffee. Pours dark brown with a big light brown head, slowly diminishing, excellent lacing. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture a little creamy the carbonation fizzy and the finish bitter and a touch astringent. Iím hoping some aging will improve this beer.

Bottle. Poured a black color with generous head. Aroma notes of vanilla, malt, and bourbon. Brown sugar, slight molassis. Taste is watery but has some malts enought to satisfy. Its ok.

Deep chocolate brown color with an off-white head. Vanilla, caramel aroma. Well-balanced caramel, coconut, vanilla character on this stout; bourbon is light enough to complement, but not overpower. Great!

12 oz that appears to have been bottled in January 2013. Pour is black with a lasting meringue-like foam. Aroma is spicy toffee, and coffee with a hint of vanilla. Front tastes of tart green apple. Finish has some coffee and green herb. Very bipolar and no barrel presence to speak of. Medium body leans to the dry side with the acidic roast and the tartness. Medium carbonation and well-hidden abv. After rating and then reading others, this bottle might have been slightly infected.

Bottle at home thanks to Jeff (drfabulous). Pours dark brown / black, lots of carbonation and an overwhelming head. Iím pretty sure I didnít just pour poorly. Wowza. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, light bourbon. Taste is light bourbon, chocolate and coffee, vanilla. A bit dr. Pepper ish. Mouth is overwhelmed by carbonation. A little out of place here. Flavors are decent, but the body and carbonation needs work.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Nice vanilla, cacao and bourbon notes on the nose. Taste is thin-bodied and watery. Carbonation is too fizzy. Fruit notes show up as it comes to room temperature. Overly sweet. Kind of a mess.

Bottle. Dark w not much head at all. Good aroma. Oak & vanilla notes. Looks and smells good but watery and thin flavor. A bit disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours solid dark brown with small head that disappears quickly. Aroma is roasted malt, some bourbon/whiskey, vanilla. Taste is the same; not anything new coming through on the palate. Incredibly thin and disappears almost immediately from the palate. Mouthfeel is all wrong for an Imperial Stout. Overly carbonated. Not awful but the mouthfeel is so thin that itís not really pleasurable to drink. I regret buying a 4-pack of this. Maybe Iíll cook with it.

Pour tar black with a foamy light tan head. Aroma of grass, some roasted malt, and caramel. Vanilla, caramel flavor with some roasted malt, and hint of wood and some bourbon. Overly carbonated. Thin body-more like a porter. Decent beer, but still the worst bourbon-barrel aged imperial stout Iíve ever heard.

Pours very dark brown, with thin tan head. Aroma is malty, with notes of wood. Tastes of a solid stout, with a hint of whiskey barrel. Not very complex, and a light on body. This is a decent stout, and worth trying. However, less complex than most imperials, and the barrel aging is weak. Canít go íthumbs upí on this one.

Bottle @ Home. Deep brown with a very frothy white head. Nose is bizarrely lemony. Pissy caramel and boiled grain. Taste is strongly acidic. Somethingís gone wrong. Lemon and caramel. Very thin and unappealing. Underweight, overly fizzy. A total mess.
