(12oz bottle). Pousr near black with khaki head and small carbonation bubbles. Aroma has oak, chocolate, coffee, but I’m not getting much in the way of bourbon. Hmmm, brewed in Kentucky, but not much bourbon. Now, it smells fine, but it just doesn’t smell like a bourbon barreled stout. Taste is roasty bitterness that is balanced by some sweetness. Medium to full bodied with a slick texture. Dry finish. This is actually a very nice beer, but I just don’t get any bourbon. That its from Kentucky is what makes me shake my head.

Drink this on draft regularly. This was the very first bourbon barrel stouts that I had. This is my go to favorite. Pore dark brown almost black. With off white head. Medium body with great roasted malty flavors with mixes of chocolate coffee and bourbon.

Bottle. Very dark with thin brown dissipating head. Smells like what I imagine the word "treacly" means- very very sweet but also roasted (reminiscent of burnt marshmallows) plus liqueur. Tastes sweet and roasty, too. A little syrypy- sweet finish. Too cloying to be really good.

From the bottle poured a very dark brew with a thick dark head.Medium bodied with aromas and flavors of bourbon, oak, coffee, and chocolate. It has nearly everything that I like in a stout.

Looks great. Opaque. Not a ton in the aroma, but this is great immediately. Chewy bit some hops and definite stickiness. Yet a nice slightly chocolate flavor. Really quite tasty. A bit thin in the finish but excellent nonetheless. One of the best beers of my trip. Great with the dessert we had.

Pours a deep brown with a thin tan head. Bourbon aroma is faint but detectable. Chocolate and vanilla are more noticeable with some caramel. Medium body with lots of fine bubbles. Chocolate dominates the taste with some toasted notes and a bittersweet finish. Bourbon flavor is barely detected but this is still a worthwhile brew.

Pours dark with a heavy tan head. The bouquet is mild and only hints at the bourbon barrel aging. The taste is wonderful for the first four or five sips, very balanced but strong. As soon as the beer starts to warm at all, though, it grows bland. The bourbon never shows up much in the taste. This isn’t bad, and I’d drink it again if you were to hand me a free one, but I’m not buying it again.

Pours nearly black with a dark tan head. Scent is strong cocoa....almost like powdered cocoa. Taste is very creamy, milky chocolate. Very little bourbon is presented, only a slight tickle after each sip....though it builds slightly as the pint moves along.....a hint of the wood. Maybe the most mild, smooth stout ever. Very easy to drink...could be deceptively dangerous to make an evening of these.

Bottle. Cocoa malt aroma with a hint of bourbon. Dark brown color with thin head. Sweet milk chocolate malt and oak flavor with a very light bourbon finish. Body on the light side. Smooth, easy drinking beer but not much bourbon aroma or flavor.

Out of the bottle. Slight coffee on a somewhat subdued nose. Deep brown with some red highlights. Tan head. Booze on the nose starts to appear. Chocolate and roast dominate. A little too much roast. Hides the high ABV well.

Aroma... a perfect bourbon. Apperance... horrible thin head. Taste nice sweet bourbon... best out there. however first sip after another beer seemed a bit week and watery. Easy on palate and very enjoyable. Nice beer. I liked it the first time... good still.
