2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap @ Bluegrass: Chestnut brown & ruby tinted body with a thin beige collar. Toasted & light roasted malts with a faint hint of acrid & heavily roasted coffee beans lingering in the background. A little bit of faint cocoa dust & some metallic earthiness on the palate, too. A touch fizzy & light bodied for a porter. Decent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2/28/14. On tap at the brewpub. One of their least offensive entries. Almost black pour with a decent enough tan head. Milk chocolate and mild coffee aroma, touches of caramel and maltiness. Flavor is just fine as well, chocolate, coffee, caramel. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Bluegrass Brewing Co., Louisville. The main page summary is an accurate description. A thoroughly acceptable, middle-of-the-road porter. Good with fish and chips (the beer batter here is very good).

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle, notched production date of April 2013, served in a snifter.
Pours clear but very dark btown with a small and weak head.
Aroma: ample notes of milk and medium chocolate with roasted grains.
Flavor: chocolate, leaning more to the dark chocolate side than does the aroma. Malty sweetness is mostly counter-balanced by English hops. Long lasting aftertase features dark roasted grains.
Feel: smooth; medium body
O: Chocolaty, even for style.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, and, earthy hops. This is thin for the style and if too cold the flavor really suffers. Plenty of other low cost local options if you want a solid porter.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, picked up last week at Party Town. Date notches on the label seem to indicate that this was bottled August, 2012. Very dark brown / red color, appears black. Thin light head, couple bits of lace. Medium body, a bit thin texture. Kind of crisp but stronger carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Chocolate aroma, light roast. Hint of nuttiness. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. OK, but not my favorite porter. A bit thin, sweet, and 1-dimensional.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint pour at Molly’s in Louisville. Mahogany body with a creamy tan head and good lacing as it descends down the glass. The aroma is a nice blend of coffee and chocolate with a malty sweetness and dried fruit. Medium body and a tad watery. The flavor was clean and smooth with nice notes of all the aroma elements.
