FoBAB 2010: Pours a glowing sunset copper hue with a lasting frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of red rye, bready and brown malts, some tropical fruit esters, light resiny hops, minerally and earthy with a raw tannic oak overtone. The taste starts with a light bitterness and rye snap, fruity acidity and a grainy astrengent tone. The finish is very dry and tannic, light chewing on a teabag. While the oak adds an interesting change, it still suffers slightly for lack of depth has well the fading hops caused by barrel aging. Needed more dry and/or wet hopping prior to service. Drinkable brew all told.
