0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Someone in the room said it smells like "old sock", I agree. The taste was horribily bitter, assertive, and astringent hops. This was terrible, and was poured down the drain right away.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Probably up there with the most mediocre bottle of double IPA I have ever had in my life.. This stuff pours out with a huge head that rivals most belgian beers. Smell is fruity and hoppy, and probably the best part of the beer. The taste is light, fully carbonated, like drinking a coke or something. The amount of yeast in the bottom of this is sickening, and probably the reason for the huge carbonation level in this beer. I guess filtering isnt so bad after all in some cases. This is a mess of a beer, but I still managed to drink the whole thing..

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This stuff is terrible, and I canít believe itís rated even at a 3.4--no way itís better than average...Really strong medicinal hop aroma with lots of malt scents and a hint of alcohol. Golden brown with a huge head. Full with tons of carbonation. The carbonation is on par with Orval--maybe even higher--and ruins the entire brew (which wasnít good to begin with). Huge bitter flavor and thatís it! Very medicinal.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Aroma has lots of orange soda notes with some stale grapefruit hops and a touch of oxidation. Pours a transparent orange wiht a large off-white head with very good lacing. Starts with bad combination of cardboard and caramel. The finish is rather harsh with some stale grapefruit hops and acidity. Very fizzy mouthfeel is unpleasant.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
25 oz bottle, via Kevin. Pours a clear bright copper colored body under a large foamy bone white head that lasted forever due to the vigorous carbonation. Aroma is well balanced between piney and resiny hops and thick toffee and candy like malt. A minimal note of alcohol. Flavor is very aggressively bitter with lots of resiny and citric hoppiness that overpowers the hefty malt base. No complexity or subtlety to this one, just an all out lupulin attack. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and full bodied, yet the carbonation is just a little out of control leading to a foamy mouthfeel. Kind of an all brawn and no brains kinda beer. No complexity at all, as if all the hops are just on the same wavelength. I will say that at least it really hid the alcohol very well.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of all foam finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a hazy softly carbonated dark yellow-orange colored body and a spiderweb lacing. The weak aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong vinous aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of hops and dough. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2007 750 ml bottle. Drunk after the bottle fell through the bag I was carrying it back to the hotel in, had the cap blow off spraying me all over with 1/2 of the contents. Dark orange/amber beer with a thick, rocky head. Aroma is very hoppy with orange marmalade, pine and earthy/spicy hop aromas over a sweet peachy/honeyish malt. Very interesting combination of spice and fruitiness. Flavour however is a massive disappointment. Earthy up front with a bit of peach and apple but also a massive amount of alcohol as well. Metallic autolyzed yeast character with a harsh bitterness. Lacks body. Warming helps it out a bit, but the flavour never gets close to where it should be.
