allfreej (299), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 6, 2008 Bottled. Murky orange pour, tan head. Nose is malty, heavy, caramel, hop resin, pine, orange, butterscotch, toffee, maple syrup. Medium body, alcohol notes, mild carbonation. Heavy bitter finish. A good double IPA, but not a great double IPA.
Darkover (1230), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 19, 2008 Hazy orange color with a big beige head. Aroma and flavor of citrus, fruit, caramel, toffee and other candies. Ibrew2or3 (1925), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 16, 2008 Courtesy of tpd975. Pours brilliant clear copper bringing up tall off white head of foam. The aroma has some solid maltiness and pine hops to go along with more malts becoming mildly roasted near the end of the draw. The taste has a hit of pine hops and bitter citrus being quickly followed up by rich malts that run into knee deep flavor. Nice stuff with full rich mouth feel. The hops hang on and sting the palate with grapefruit and pine hop bitterness into the after taste. sebletitje (579), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2008 Courtesy of tpd975.
Pours hazy blonde, off white head.
Aroma is yeasty
Taste, malty caramel, light hops and citrus notes.
Had the bottom of bottle to taste, not the best accurate review, had a lot of sediments. fishingnet (928), Brandon, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2008 Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a hazy copper with a large off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is loaded with citrus hops and is followed by sweet malt and a touch of caramel. Taste is the same as aroma but less prominent. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.
