"i kinda agree with blues on this one - who just happened to provide this brew! much less bourbon than expected...defnitely in the aroma, but the flavor too. More subtle chocolate and vanilla, minimal hops. it was a little thin for a 10.5 impy stout, but smooth and very drinkable for a beer of that strength. nice lingering semi-sweet finish. overall, it falls into the good but not great catergory. for the price, Iíd go with Bourbon County, given the choice, but thid was nice. the beer looked great once it stopped foaming wildly, but that took a few, so i gotta knock the "appearance" a point."

Louisville bottle. Overall a nice stout. I really didnít get much bourbon or barrel. It seemed mostly like coffee or baking chocolate to me. Fine.

Very good brew. Pour is pitch black. Flavor is chocolate and burnt oats. For a high alcohol this beer is smooth and delicious.

April 2010. From bottle. Black with a tan head. Sweet aromas from the bourbon barrel, chocolate, roasted malt. A bit too sweet and sticky for my taste, but still a good stout.

The beer is a subdued, mild rendition of a stout. The bitterness is there in balance. The head lingers appropriately. The barrel aging mellows all characteristics of the beer and makes for great sessionability.

very dark brown in color. Chocolate notes with alcohol warming, and slight taste of alcohol. Very nice on tap.

Draft pour. Thin bodied with a strange over representation of hops. Aside from that, not bad. Has some very roasty flavors with hints if bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and metal.

This... this is a very good beer. Strong, sweet but well balanced, this beer is incredibly smooth, and while you can smell and taste the alcohol, it is in a delightful fashion, interwoven with coffee, oak, and earthy tones. If this beer were cheaper Iíd drink it daily, and as such Iím glad it is not, else I might appreciate it less were I to have it too often. Iím a fan of aged stouts in general, and this is an excellent example of the class. Great beer!
