ThaBobfather (130), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 17, 2008 Bought this in a growler. It’s got a very smooth taste with some coffee and chocolate. Smells delicious and has many quality taste notes. Love the bourbon.

bottle, pours dark brown with minimal tan head. aroma is burbon that doens’t really come through in the flavor. flavor is coffee, little chocolate, rich and creamy. pretty easy drinking for 8.5%. mwelsh13 (124), Maryland, USA Aug 14, 2008 Draft at the Green Leafe. Deep brown pour with a small tan head. Roast aroma. Slightly sweet with a "bourbon" like flavor. Does not taste oak aged. jake65 (1216), Meridian, Idaho, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of heavy roast and coffee, faint chocolate tones. Flavor is dry and roasty. Lighter on the coffee and bittersweet cocoa notes. Faint barrel aged presence. Overall, rather dry and roasty and not much barrel aged feel. Thanks to Ughsmash for sending this bonus brew. alexsdad06 (618), Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a small diminishing beige head. The aroma had an initial blast of KY bourbon which ends up blending with the roasted malt and dark chocolate. The flavor is initially roasted/slightly burnt malt with moderate sweetness before giving way to dark fruits, chocolate and a touch of alcohol. A hint of bitterness in the finish. Smooth with medium body. Decent. jcurtis55 (14), Plainfield, Indiana, USA Aug 1, 2008 Wow, I really liked this one. Got little head which affected the appearance rating and may have subdued the aroma a bit. But flavor and mouthfeel are great. It was good right from the refridgerator and continued to taste great as it warmed a bit. And this is form a person who does not really care for bourbon. This might not be for you if you are looking for a distinct bourbon flavor. I thought I got just a bit of bourbon in the smell, but it certainly took a back seat to the usual roasty chocolate stout flavor. Quite drinkable. In fact I would think of this as more of a normal stout instead of an Imperial stout.
