UPDATED: SEP 23, 2005 Dark amber with a thin white head. Tastes bready, and slightly sweet with floral hoppiness. Not bad, but not interesting enough to merit another.

3.3
   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20

Tap (and it ran out while I was there): Served too cold and had to let warm. Clean ruby hue with a small fading head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and bready malts, apple and pear, rye and grassy hops, and a hint of leathery yeast esters. The taste starts quite fruity with much apple and even a little currant detected. Mild malty backbone which is mostly pale ales but some caramel character does show through. Minor bitter presence on the finish. This is a refreshing and easy going brew yet there is enough going on to keep the palate interested, a dry finish noted as well. A very nice brew, I liked it.
