Sample from growler shared by shigadeyo. Pours a deep copper color with a medium beige head. The aroma was sweet caramel with smooth oak influences and a mild marichino cherry note. The flavor has moderate sweetness, caramelized sugars, oak, cherry with just a dash of spice. At times it was slightly tart. Mouthfeel was syrupy; medium bodied. I enjoy trying all of the barrel aged beers BBC does.

Growler sample shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear dark brown color with an average light brown frothy head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good black cherry, wood and scotch aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy woody sweet flavor and medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good brew and if I had a bottle I would age for a year and try again.

7/03/2009: Bluegrass LeFreedom Oaked Cherry Dubble has a sweet, caramelized sugar aroma with undertones of wood and black cherry. Subtle cherry and cinnamon can be found in the flavor along with lots of French oak and even port-like flavors. This beer has a deep amber color and a frothy beige head that leaves puffy lacing marks on the glass. Overall, this beer is similar in character to the BBC Black Cherry Lambic, but more sweet with much more caramelized malt coming through. I thought that this was a very good Dubbel that is probably still a bit young. A little more time to mellow out the oak would probably reall help this beer.

Draught (growler) at Party Town in Florence, Kentucky. Rating #1 for this beer.
