GG (1482), NorCal, California, USA May 30, 2009 For starters, you do not want to have to say the name of this beer if you’ve had a bottle or two. The beer is quite nice though, and thankfully shared with my brother. The beer pours out a light amber color, streams of carbonation forming from the bottom with a super large 4" thick head. Aroma is quite fruity, apricots and pears being mostly dominant, some light floral notes and alcohol wafting up too. Sweet on the palate, with more light fruits coming on strong, alcohol is also prevalent. Lemon cookies around mid-palate after awhile. Decent beer. bitbucket (1910), Kirkland, Washington, USA May 29, 2009 Pours hazy dark brown. Medium-light body and carbonation. Sweet, but sort of murky toffee nut taste. Doesn’t seem entirely on style. Not too bad, just not what I was expecting. Lagunitasfan (322), San Diego, California, USA Apr 9, 2009 T3 tasting. A bottle I got in trade from Acknud. Thanks a bunch for this. There was zero release when the cap was popped, so I was a bit worried, especially with eight bodies around the table. Hazy peach in color, and no head at all. Nose is creamy. Melon and pineapple. Taste is citrus with a light bitterness. padrefan98 (758), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Apr 5, 2009 Served from a bottle at toncatchers T3 tasting! Thanks to stefanje, lagunitasfan, weeheavysd, fordest, wetherel, alohac and of course toncatcher for suppling the house and grub. I thought this was wierd for a triple, but still loved it. Lots of appricot, pears, and apples detected. Was missing the typical cloves and pepper I am used to in a triple. stefanje (826), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Apr 5, 2009 750 ml bottle at T3. Brought by Lagunitasfan (I think). Pours a cloudy yellow-brown color with a small white head. The Aroma is distinctly fruity and sweet with apples and pears. The taste is similarly fruity with more pears, apples and some bubble gum. The finish is medium in duration with lingering rock candy. The mouthfeel was just a bit on the thin side. Overall: Not your typical tripel, but still quite enjoyable. WeeHeavySD (2784), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 4, 2009 Bottle from lagunitas fan at the TTaT. People liked this a lot, i thought it was tasty but just ok. Pours orange with bubbles. Nose i sweet , some pineapple maybe. Taste is sweet boozy, ok, big of fruit, drinkable but passable. Cletus (4314), Connecticut, USA Mar 1, 2009 Pours reddish gold with a nice white head. Smells of sugar and floral. Tastes sweet (too sweet for a tripel) with some fruity hints on the finish. after4ever (2419), Brier, Washington, USA Feb 22, 2009 750, corked, baled, and foiled. Thanks, whomever. Murky dark orangeish amber. Headless, laceless. Cloyingly sweet belgian nose. Creamy medium body. Over-carbed for sure. Oranges and doughy malts on the mid-palate. Mild sweet finish.
