stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Apr 5, 2009 750 ml bottle at T3. Brought by Lagunitasfan (I think). Pours a cloudy yellow-brown color with a small white head. The Aroma is distinctly fruity and sweet with apples and pears. The taste is similarly fruity with more pears, apples and some bubble gum. The finish is medium in duration with lingering rock candy. The mouthfeel was just a bit on the thin side. Overall: Not your typical tripel, but still quite enjoyable. Thanks, whomever. Murky dark orangeish amber. Headless, laceless. Cloyingly sweet belgian nose. Creamy medium body. Over-carbed for sure. Oranges and doughy malts on the mid-palate. Mild sweet finish. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2008 Pours hazy orange gold with thin white head. The aroma speaks of the smooth goodness to come. Yum, raisins, plums, apricots and blunted spices. The taste brings up fruity sweetness, Belgian candi sugar and tasty yeasty spices. Thick brew yet smooth and mellowed. It has aged very well at only a year old. Feels and tastes like a 4 year old vintage beer. Flavor was sweet and citrusy with a bit of pine in teh aftertaste. hopscotch (5442), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 21, 2008 Bottle... Backus’s Backdoor Bash ‘08... Cloudy golden ale with a small, fat bubbled, white head. The aroma is fruity and yeasty, presenting notes of bread, peach and apricot. Full-bodied and mega creamy with nearly expired carbonation. The flavor is very well-balanced; sweet and fruity, but also generously hopped. Lengthy bitter finish that leaves a creamy film in the mouth.
