Tasting at mcbackus. Light amber pour, almost no head. Aroma of cider, alcohol, and some sweetness. Flavor is smooth and fruity, but too much alcohol. Spicy on the tongue.

750ml bottle. Poured a hazy medium orange color. The head consisted of a few sorry looking medium sized soap bubbles that popped immediately. Smelled of apple cider with a splash of grape and a good whiff of alcohol. There was also a hint of candi sugar. Medium bodied with carbonation on the low end of the spectrum. Sweet and spicy (clove and cinnamon) with a bit of bitterness at the end. The alcohol and fruit flavor gave it an almost apple liqueur-like character. Not awful, but clearly past it’s prime. Did not age particularly well even in my dark, cool cellar.

Thanks to David for opening this one! Poured brighter golden with no head sticking around. The aroma was hot with pears and green apples prominently featured.. pale malts supported a bit.. accented by a bit of peppery spicage.. I rather enjoyed it at this point. The flavor was hot again and not as well done.. light fruity and honey sweetness supported a lot of paint-stripping heat, especially at the back-end.. lighter fruit skins have a sour impression that didn’t help so much. Medium-bodied and hot on the palate with dry, lower-carbonated feel on the palate.. I felt every bit of the 11% in here!

Pours to a clean golden body that looks like cognac. No head. The aroma is pears and green/yellow apples with a nice yeasty Belgian thing. The flavor is alcoholic pears and yellow apples with mild notes of grain. Some yeasts. The palate is a bit hot. Medium bodied with a sticky feel.

750ml bottle. Full 1 and a half inch think yeast sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Geez, ’04 Dark Lord-esque.....AND that’s where the comparison’s end.

Some nice fruity esters on the aroma. Decanted perfectly so as not to disturb the freakish sediment on the bottom. No head, low carbonation. Some fusels in here. A bit of green apple. Very dry finish. Warming sensation on the way down. More phenolics coming through.

Underwhelming to say the least.

Breadie, yeastie nose. Sun ripened yellow body. Flavor is yeastie with ripe peach tones and a bit of nectar.

This was horribly underwhelming. Pours copper with a small flimsy head. The aroma has rubbing alcohol, corn syrup and toffee. Medium / light body with very little carbonation. The flavor starts with caramel malt and alcohol heat and the finish jacks it up to being unbearably hot. The is is just an overall bad tripel.

crystal clear dark yelllow, scant head, slightly fumey candy sweet aroma with nice esters, thick body, lots of candy sweetness balanced out by light spices, just a hint of an earthy quality the stays too hidden to identify
