3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: DEC 3, 2006 Pours a hazy light golden with a thin white head. Aroma of honey, flowers (clover), and sweetish malts. Taste is cloyingly sweet, slightly sour, and yeasty. Mouthfeel is heavy and sticky with high carbonation.

Light haze on this amber beer, little white head. Dry palate, slightly airy. Spicy semi sweet malt. Traces of caramel and dried fruits. Finishes dry. Not the most deft of tripels but itís okay.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Like so many tripels, this one is too sweet. The alcohol is not integrated effectively. Fine yeasty character. Not bad overall, but certainly lacks subtlety.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Muddy orange with light, creamy, white head / Mellow, sweet nose of orange, cream, and honey / Full body, sweet and somewhat chewy, excellent balance but hot, lightly bitter, finish / Flavors of orange, cream, honey, and pine / Tastes more like a double or triple ipa than a Belgian. Love this brewer, but this one tastes like a first try - a good effort but ultimately somewhat clumsy and a do-over. Might improve with age?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle c/o Chaney. Thanks Brandon!
A: Hazy yellow with a big head that leaves ample lacing.
S: Citrus, spices, yeast. Easily identifiable as a tripel.
T: I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised by this beer, as the quality definitely exceeded my expectations. The flavor is bold and full, without the cloying sweetness that often accompanies American versions of this style. A big citrus component beautifully merged with a subtle spice aspect make for a tasty beverage.
M: 10.7%?!? I didnít realize this until I was halfway through my glass. Alcohol content hidden masterfully. This is full bodied and rich.
D: I would absolutely drink this again. I liked it a lot. Itís nice to see a brewery from the U.S. create a great Belgian-style tripel.

Draft in a half pint glass. Pours clear light orange. Very strong flavor but I canít identify anything besides the alcohol, citrus and resin. Has a medium finish with sweet aftertaste and berry flavors. Very sweet. Again very strong.
