BBC Nut Brown Ale has a diverse grain bill which lends this traditional English ale a variety of flavors that coalesce into a remarkably smooth and pleasant drink. Additions of various pale, caramel and dark malts create a smooth, sweet malt profile with hints of roasted nuttiness. Multiple additions of English hops round out the flavors and give this classic beer a true flavor of the Old World.

On tap at the Cincy/N-Ky. airport. Mahogany; nice color with a somewhat uninspired head. Pretty decent aroma of caramel, milk, and sweetness followed by more roasty qualities. Coffee tones are prominent in the flavor; it was halfway between a sweetish porter and a more common nut brown, but this defied expectations for airport beer. "Sweet malts" are the keyword for the palate here. I should also note that this was the only beer I had in the past ~1 month apart from a night at NxNW in Austin, so I might be overrating a litte.

Light brown-copper pour with a thin but lasting tan head. Aroma is nutty with a bit of coffee. Low medium-bodied. Tasting reveals roasted malts, nuts, coffee and a bit of chocolate towards the finish. Long bitter finish. I liked this one. Perhaps a bit more body and it would be higher, but the flavors are all there.

One of my favorite Nut Browns. Pours brown in color with a tint of red. Has a nice tan head. Has a nutty, roasted smell and also can detect seom caramel malts. In tasting, also felt a faint taste of chocolate to go with the nut and caramel.

Iím really not a fan of this style, poured a medium brown color with a thin white head which quickly faded away. Aroma was a mix of caramel and nuts. Flavor seemed one-demntional, an almost walnut flavor, with some barley noticable caramel notes. Hops were very mild.

Roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. A slight sour taste. No head to speak of. Dark brown cloudy appearance. About an average brown.

12oz bottle. I like Nut Brown ales so I enjoyed this beer but I was disappointed. It was a little thin in color and in flavor/palate. There was not enough malt sweetness/nuttiness.

Pours a medium brown color, but the light shines through clearly. There isnít much head and it is a bright white. This beer smells a little sweet and almost fruity. It tastes of chocolate and coffee with a bit of a malty aftertaste. Pretty good beer with a solid flavor.

A sturdy offering. Cereal, musty, roast aroma. Fair label, watery cola color - clear and dark. Cocoa, cereal, lightly nut sweet. Finishes out with some astringency and green nuts. A little bit of work would make this a frontline brew.

Last reviewer got it right. nutty, quafable brown ale that is not distinct but enjoyable. Just a hint of metaltic aftertaste on this kept me from rating this higher. Bluegrass does another beer style proud.

Clear mahogany pour, diminutive and quickly fading beige head. Aroma is of nutty caramel, light vanilla, fresh flowers, lightly toasted sweet malts and grains. Flavor is not too shabby, with more nutty malts, caramel and light chocolate on the backnote. Finishes thin and semi-sweet. Palate is thin but well wrought and somewhat silky. A quaffable brown ale, nothing distinct but pretty enjoyable.
