COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BBC Nut Brown Ale has a diverse grain bill which lends this traditional English ale a variety of flavors that coalesce into a remarkably smooth and pleasant drink. Additions of various pale, caramel and dark malts create a smooth, sweet malt profile with hints of roasted nuttiness. Multiple additions of English hops round out the flavors and give this classic beer a true flavor of the Old World.

I enjoy this nut brown. The beer is very flavorful and bold. It is easy to drink, but comes off as fresh and alive.

This is a pretty nice looking beer w/ its slightly cloudy brown color and small head of evenly sized bubbles. The nose is mildly roast w/ some caramel and fruity apple notes. The flavor is mild and drinkable, just a touch of darker malts and roast, medium dry w/ brisk carbonation. It is decently balanced though I feel it would benefit if the carbonation was toned down a hair. Decent enough brew but it is neither perfectly executed nor particularly flavorful so I’d say it’s just a bit above average for the style.

Dark brown color with some ruby and dark orange highlights around the edges. Minimal head with an aggressive pour. Not much lacing left on the glass either. The head was of an off white, cream color. In the smell, I was picking up a decent amount of roasted malt, walnut, and hazelnut. Dry, leafy hints in the nose also. Breadiness. Doughy with notes of caramel on a subtle level. With the taste, I was again picking up the roasted, smokey, "nut" flavored malt. Touches of black coffee come through at the end and stick to the back of the throat. Not overpowering, but lasts long enough until the next sip. Medium mouthfeel that leans ever so slightly to the light/thin side. As I said, coats the throat somewhat, but doesn’t linger as long as one would expect. Somewhat crisp. Not as dry as I was anticipating. This is a decent little brown ale. Not the best, but definitely worth a try, in my opinion. Solid. I wouldn’t have a problem drinking a few of these. It seems that every Bluegrass Brewing Co. beer I have had lacks a bit with head and head retention however.

Bottle. Reddish-amber color, pale head, leaves a hint of lacing. On first pour, aroma has a strong vanilla-chocolate scent, which gives way to a predominantly roasted-nut malt scent once the beer warms up slightly. Flavor has the same vanilla background, over a roast-nut malt. Tiniest hints of hop floral and light coffee. Smooth and very little bitterness.

Reddish brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, some pine, and floral hops. Taste of caramel malts, some roast, nuts, and toast.

Aroma of almonds, vanilla and caramel. Appearance is red\brown with tan head. Flavor matches the nose, with an almost bourbon like vanilla flavor. Palate is creamy. One of BBC’s best offerings.
