Aroma was of nuts and caramel. Flavor was of nuts and some fruity taste that I can’t place. This beer was pretty heavy. Little lacing. This was an ok beer, but I wouldn’t go back for it again. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Jul 31, 2008 Clear mohogany coloring with a small white ring of ubbly foam. Toasted hazelnuts with rich toffee and caramel. Medium bodied and malty, bordering on chewy. Very sessionable and leaves behind some great residual lacing. alexanderj (1218), San Diego, California, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottle; poured a dark auburn color with a smallish off white head. Aroma was really good for the style; caramel, chocolate covered nuts, and chocolate milk. Flavor was surprisingly good for the style; a hint of coffe with caramel, chocolate ant nuts. A touch of sweetness. A little hint of creaminess on the palate would have made it an elite version of the style; however it was still really good.
