Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a deep brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is dry cocoa and dust, some light roast. The flavor was a nice mellow brew; dark roasty flavors, more cocoa and dry dark fruit, a bit of milk coffee. Very nice.

750mL bottle in trade from drfabulous. Cheer, Jeff! Pours a dark porter brown with a medium tan head. Nose is roast, dark fruit, earth, and cocoa. Flavor is similar with some roast, some coffee, some dark fruit, and some earth. Very light in body for the style and little hint of the alcohol present except for the sweetness.

The bottle warmed out of the fridge. Poured with a nice, tan, foamy, frothy, head that slowly subsided and lots of lace.Color is a clear, very dark garnet. Aroma is mild and malt, hop, and toffee. Flavor is like nose, but sweetness is more apparent due to light carbonation. Body is good but carbo is light. Finishi is like flavor and of medium length but is boozy. Not bad, not great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hoosiers1994 (667) - Maryland, USA - JUN 5, 2011
750 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a deep black with red tinge if held to the light, and a light tan head. Head is thick, but quickly disappears. Aromas are cocoa, slight sour, booze. Taste is chocolate, coffee, and booze. Nice heavy palate and low carbonation. Overall, a nice big porter that is more like a stout. Not bad.

Bottle at home, fun artwork as well. Pours a black abyss of a body with a cascading coffee esk head that settles to a dark tan lacing that grips the sides of the glass. Aromatically very woody and malty. Immediate oak, wood tones, saw dust like which seems to impede the brightness of the chocolate malt tones. A touch of coco and light roastiness. Chocolate, coco, and woody flavor with a bitter drying coffee and woodiness. Feels a bit thin for the suggested ABV, but does have a nice bitter sting that rolls over the tongue leaving hints of dark chocolate and bitter roast. A decent offering. Soft carbonation and medium bodied. Nice.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 iugrad93 (236) - Indiana, USA - MAR 29, 2011
750ml bottle. Very dark, almost black. Tan head with little lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, soy, and alcohol, like a whiskey. Taste is medium sweet with light bitterness. Palate is slick, almost oily with a medium body and little carbonation. I taste the alcohol in this one, maybe more that others do because of the whiskey/soy aroma. At first drink, I was not sure if I really liked it but after some warming and a few more sips, it is starting to grow on me.
