750 ml bottle from notes. Pours a very dark brown to black color with a medium sized, creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor have chocolate, some dark roasted malt, dark fruits, earth, a splash of resin, hides the abv pretty well, I used to like this back in the day.

Sampler at the brewpub. Opaque black porter. Good carbonation and a semi dry palate. Rich dark malt, slightly toasty and a somewhat bitter. An interesting contrast to the high carbonation! Finishes crisp!

Tabac, chocolat, mélasse, coco, espresso, cuir et raisins dans une valse torride et collante. Grosse surprise.

Black with fair, creamy, brown head / Nose of dark fruit, chocolate, and tobacco / Medium to full body, dense and inky, hint of sourness, somewhat chewy and acidic, alcohol well masked, with good hop balance and bitter finish / Tight, closed flavors of prune, plum, semisweet chocolate, dark roast coffee, coconut, and caramel / A dense, dark thing.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a deep brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is dry cocoa and dust, some light roast. The flavor was a nice mellow brew; dark roasty flavors, more cocoa and dry dark fruit, a bit of milk coffee. Very nice.

750mL bottle in trade from drfabulous. Cheer, Jeff! Pours a dark porter brown with a medium tan head. Nose is roast, dark fruit, earth, and cocoa. Flavor is similar with some roast, some coffee, some dark fruit, and some earth. Very light in body for the style and little hint of the alcohol present except for the sweetness.

The bottle warmed out of the fridge. Poured with a nice, tan, foamy, frothy, head that slowly subsided and lots of lace.Color is a clear, very dark garnet. Aroma is mild and malt, hop, and toffee. Flavor is like nose, but sweetness is more apparent due to light carbonation. Body is good but carbo is light. Finishi is like flavor and of medium length but is boozy. Not bad, not great.
