Attractive rich roasty-looking pour...deep brown with tan head. The nose is roasted grain and chocolate. The flavors are also deeply roasted, mostly chocolate, coffee, roasted grain, brown sugar, toffee, and caramel. Some earthy hop bitterness in the finish. My only kick is the mouthfeel as pretty thin (RIP?) and feels a bit overcarbonated. Pretty good all in all.

big thanks to StFun for sending this my way... cloudy opaque woody black pour with a soft light brown head and drippy lacing. aromas of cherry, prunes, golden raisins, wood, grain, sour/milky and chocolate. the flavor is mildly reminiscent of red wine, prune-y, acetone/booze, wood, grass, vanilla, grain and light spice. it gets a bit tingly from the hops before it finishes sour, lightly astringent and dry. nice mellow aftertaste of charred wood. medium body with creamy soft carbonation. it’s rather smooth except for the sourness and parching hop qualities. the mouth feel seems to get a bit thin as it warms. quite tasty... baltic porter?... 3.5/no. imperial porter... 4.0/yes!

Pours a very dark cola brown and the head forms weakly and is composed of larger, more soda-like bubbles. The aroma is very chocolaty with a suggestion of toasted coconut. The flavor is a little less interesting than the aroma and is a little on the dry side. This beer definitely benefits from warming.

750ml. bottle into pint glass. Pretty much black pour with a great creamy light tan/brown head. Rich and smooth aroma – vanilla, sweet milk chocolate, molasses, and chocolate ice cream. The flavor is the exact same. The flavor is unbelievably potent, but has some great sweet subtleties – great for vanilla and chocolate lovers. A very subtle hop finish coupled with a coffee bitterness. No alcohol at all on the flavor, only as a warming agent in the stomach. The more I drink the more dark fruit notes I am getting (raisins and dark cherries). Medium to full bodied and unbelievably smooth. Overall: I probably have some local bias, but I would have a hard time believing that any beer enthusiast could deny that this is a very solid brew; I bet it is great with dessert (chocolate or vanilla ice cream, crapes, etc.), especially by a fire in the winter.

Courtesy of Quake1028. The aroma holds dark fruit, chocolate, cocoa, cherry, acetone and a hint of licorice. The body is dark brown with a dark brown with ruby highlights. The head is thin and tan colored. Big dark fruit and milk chocolate int he fore. Some licorice and boozy alcohol through the middle ranges. Finishes with chocolate/fruit sweetness. Fairly nice.

Sample at the Most Honorable SuperHappyFun Stout Tasting, thanks Dogbrick: Aroma here is pretty bready. I get some coffee notes, sugars, and cocoa. Moderate roastiness, but does not satisfy me for a porter.
