COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rye 75 is a tribute to our friends along Interstate 75. The malty sweetness extracted from Canadian pale ale and French caramel malt is balanced by the spicy flavor of German rye malt which composes 30% of the grist bill. In addition to its big malt profile Rye 75 has an assertive dose of American Cascade and Columbus hops lending a citrusy and floral flavor and aroma. This beer has been dry hopped in the keg with more Cascade hops for even greater hop aroma.

750 ml bottle; thanks Alex!! clear, light orange with frothy white head; fruity hops, oranges, dry rye; quite nice, drinks smooth and nice level of bitterness; a little sharp rye spice in the finish is where I notice the rye the most; more texture too than your average IPA with a full, smooth mouthfeel; quite nice overall

Copper pour. Lots of sticky malts in the nose and the rye is evident. Flavor is a bit sticky, rye adds some dryness and nice notes, hops are there but a bit overpowered.

(750ml bottle courtesy of auroracrisis). Pours a hazy orange-copper color with soapy off-white head. Aroma is hard candy, rye, caramel. Taste is sweet malts with some rye spiciness. Sticky texture. Not bad, but probably past its prime.

750 ml bottle. Thanks to Drfabulous. Used a pint. Moderate retention and lace. Cloudy orange in color. Nose was interesting grassy rye, citrus and a bit of sweet bread. Taste of heavy rye, pine, citrus and sweet malt, nice and balanced with mild hop bitterness. Lots of juicy hop flavor without a ton of bitterness. Very tasty brew and I wish I had a chance to try more from the Brewery. Solid.

750 mL bottle. Recovered from a thieving future in-law. Aroma - Moderate citrus hop aroma. Spiciness. By the aromas and flavors, I am guessing this bottle is a little past its prime. Appearance - Poured a cloudy brownish-red. Very little head that leaves little lacing. It cleared up a bit as it warmed, but this is definitely its weakest attribute. Taste - Very sweet and spicy. Bitterness hits a bit upfront, but stays a long time. Longest-lasting bitterness in an IPA I can remember. Hop flavor stays with you until the end, too. Palate - Very thick, oily, lubricating. I’m not sure how I feel about this kind of palate. Overall - This is my first RyePA. I am having trouble putting together my overall thoughts on this beer. Until I can do so, all I will say is that I think this is pretty good. I probably would not buy it again, but would gladly accept it if offered.

750ml from Liquor Barn, Louisville. Nice creamy looking pour, a faintly cloudy orange with a big foamy head. Nose immediately suggests that I did not get this one at its freshest, with a strong bready note threatening to overtake the still evident hops. But to taste, the sweet, faded malts are actually complemented well by the rye. Overall it’s a bit too thin, and needs more spice and bitterness. But I enjoyed this after my initial worries.

Bottle pours dark amber with small light tan head despite an aggressive pour. Aromas are caramel, grass, and some spice. Taste is mostly caramel malt, that gives way to the bitterness and spice of the rye. Hops are noted for the tangy citrus, but the rye is more prevalent. Mouthfeel is sticky and a bit heavy for the style. Overall, not bad, but too many other better competitors out there....Founders Red’s Rye.

22 ounce bomber that pours a copper color brew. Arommas of pine, citurs, and hay. Flavors come through are ciitrus, caramel, and some hops. Not an overly hoppy beer and enjoyed in summer heat.

Got to try this thanks to Barrios. Mostly clear gold, light tan head. Aroma is herbal, grass, resin, lemon, toffee. Taste is fruity, some herbal qualities again, nice bitterness, a little buttery. Medium body, slick texture.

Pours a lacing beige head with a copper body. Aromas of pine and caramel. Flavor is much the same. Finish is bitter and slightly dry.

pours a copper color with little head or lacing. smells of hay, earthiness, and some hops. taste is fairly bitter with some sourness on the backend. medium bodied with a dry finish. overall, this was not bad, but not great. The rye adds a unique taste and the citrus hops are there but not as much in the flavor as I’d like. I’d drink if offered, but prefer others.
