12oz bottle, bottled June ’11. Highly carbonated pour, gusher - could be infection. Pours a golden yellowish with small white head. Smells sweet and somewhat citrusy. Taste is complex, but muddy and maybe under attenuated - has a lot going on - yeasty, bready, sweet, citrusy, orange, etc. With a bit of carbonation/infection control - there could be a nice beer hiding in here.

12 ounce bottle, bottled in August 2011. Served in a tulip glass, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and there’s a decent amount of lacing left behind on the glass. The brew smells like light fruit (pears, peaches), Belgian yeast and wheat, but there’s also a weird off-aroma that I can’t identify but I know it doesn’t smell good at all. Luckily there isn’t anything off about the taste. It tastes like peppery spice, Belgian yeast, pears and a bit of bready malt. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, and it’s well carbonated. It’s certainly not one of the better saisons (or BBC beers in general) I’ve tried and I wouldn’t buy a sixer of this, but for $1.69 a bottle it’s worth a try.

Bottle thanks to Kyle! Pours a near clear (some sediment) orangish gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of floral notes with a bit of light fruit and backing saison yeast and light grains. Flavor is similar with light fruits and flora with backing sweet grains. Not complex but drinkable.

Gross. I’m starting to think i just hate saisons altogether. Honestly this beer tastes like some kind of smoked canned meat. Seriously disgusting. I had to choke down the one I opened and pretty much beg my friends to take the rest of the six pack I had. I have yet to have a saison I have liked. Nasty.

12oz bottle from Liquor Barn, Louisville. Darkish gold pour with a mild cloudiness at the core and a medium fluffy head. Hints of sediment and moderate lacing. Nose is softly grainy, with only a bare whiff of hops and spice. Medium body, slightly watery palate with none of the mild bite I’d expect from the style. Flavors are fairly anonymous, with a dose of spice at the front and a generic yeast note dominating the middle. Just a touch of bitterness in the finish, but overall a forgettable entry.

On tap at Teller’s Hyde Park. Pours a clear orange brown with a very small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, bready malt, and jam. Flavor of Belgian spices up front esp anise, more Belgian yeast and bready malt. Super light and drinkable. 6/4/7/4/14 (3.5/5)

Bottle from Beverages4Less in Santee, CA. Pours hazy orange gold with a slight transient near-white head. Aroma is sort of fruity, suggestive of lightly earthy. Med body. Flavor is herby/spicy but not very farmyard. It has a certain tang, seemingly related to citrus. Quaffable.

The beer pours light copper with a small white head. The aroma is ver light with sweet notes. There are notes of yeast saison flavors to dominate, but still too light overall on a medium body.

Ar: Peach, rosy alcohol, slight spiciness. Ap: Cloudy pale orange - medium-large off-white head with good retention and a thick lacing. T: Fruity up front, peaches, pears, and bananas - light toasted malt with some soapiness - finish is very short, with slight pepper notes and medium bitterness. P: Medium-high carbonation - finish is dry and a bit watery. O: Easy-drinking saison with some nice and classic flavors - a stronger finish would be nice.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of drfabulous. Thanks! A touch hazy, golden orange appearance with a fluffy white head. Spicy, mildly peppery, light barnyard, belgian golden ale aroma. Peppery, floral, barnyard, a touch funky, Belgian ale flavor. Ok.
