COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When they told me we were getting a salad bar at Bluegrass Brewing Company, the first thing I did was laugh, the second thing I did was weep with utter humiliation and shame. The third thing I did was a tribute beer. This American style barleywine has what any early bird special geriatric drinker wants, big sweet caramel malt and fruity notes balanced with several charges of floral and citrusy American hops. Aged for over half a year to mellow...I’m referring to the barleywine here, not the garbanzo beans. ABV 11.0% IBU 90.0

At Mikkeller Bar Copenhagen New Year weekend 2010. A dark sweet beer with a sweet flavor that reminds me of a desert I use to eat at easterhollidays when i was a child - "memma". It´s from Finnland and you can´t eat more than a couple of spoons because it´s so sweet. A nice beer.

On tap. Slightly hazy reddish amber with a small yellowish head. Lovely nutty aroma with some caramel and a refined spicy hoppiness. Full-bodied, sweet caramel and nuts with an underlying dry hoppiness that balances throughout. The alcohol is present in the finish but never becomes boozy. Lovely. 181210

18-DEC-2010, draft at Mikkeller Bar. Clear brown, low grey head. Alcoholic nose. Bitter with lovely hoppy bitterness and long sweet malty taste. On the fruity and hoppy bitter side for a barley wine, but hey that’s how I like them. Perhaps a bit simple, apart from that. But fine barley wine.
