Draft at Shelbyville Road. Poured hazy copper with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Heavy bittersweet flavor with a heavy smooth bittersweet and small alcohol burn finish of long duration. A very good beer.

Pours dark golden amber with a mostly receding head. Aroma of grapefruit, sweet cookie and citrus, and mild note of earthy toffee. Taste is tangy and citric with earthy malt notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied and resinous with lush carbonation. Pretty nice IPA from the BBC.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours copper with tight ivory head. The aroma is American hops, citrus, muffin-y malt, and some floral notes. The flavor is dry, citrus hops up front along with some earthy bitterness and burnt toast. Slight maltiness works its way into the middle before a dry, botanical finish with only some faint hints of alcohol and a hint of sugary sweetness.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NachlamSie (2136) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 1, 2007
draught. Pours a cloudy, hazy copper with a fluffy white head. The aroma is fully floral and honey sweet. It’s not too sharp, but delicate in its intricacies with suggestions of green peppers, fresh cut grass, herbal tea. Hey, this stuff is pretty tasty. It’s really clean which as we know, can be tough to pull off in this style. I’ve had a few other hoppy brews from here that haven’t been great, but this was really enjoyable. There is a strong green tea flavor with honey and a fruit bouquet like apples, grapefruit. The finish is plenty drying with pinier characteristics. Excellent balance all around and adequate cajones to boot. Mouthfeel is just slightly sticky and still enjoyable as I slurp down the last of the glass. It reminds me of a U.K. IPA in the malt department, but more of a U.S. hop profile. Nice work!
