75cL bottle, hangtag says 7,2% abv Deep dark brown coloured body with about 90% opacity. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, earth, grain and some light spices coming through. Medium-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavours with a bunch of sweet elements showing caster sugar, caramel, canella and a bit of lactose still around. Strong aftertaste of roasted malt, licorice, aniseed and a bit of grain that overpower the sweetness. Overall, a decent stout, but leaning too much on the pungency of the malt and the thinness of this one stood out on the ’con’ side of things. Not a bad beer, but definitely not worth US$12,00 for 75cL! I sampled this bottle passed out by one of my teammates after a hockey game in Arlington, Virginia on 01-June-2016, purchased earlier in the evening at BlueJacket in Washington, DC for US$12,00 for the 75cL bottle.

Draft at brewpub. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Big malted roast notes on the nose with a bit of a smoky thing. Faint hint of pepper on the tongue which unfortunately fades. Slight hint of chocolate. Solid beer but not as enticing as I hoped it would be from the description. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A really well put together Mexican chocolate type stout. Vanilla, cinnamon, peppers, and cocoa all expertly balanced. Really smooth and delicious throughout.

Draft at the brewery. Pours rich dark brown with a fizzy light brown head. Tastes like chocolate, molasses, a hint of spice, vanilla, and cinnamon. Rich and smooth but not too sweet. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like chocolate, molasses, cinnamon, vanilla, and smooth boozy, nutty malt.

Dark brown pour at Bluejacket. Big chocolaty nose with some roasted malt. Thin, but quite flavorful. Moderation of all these ingredients leads to a really pleasant beer.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, milk chocolate, vanilla, light cinnamon and a hint of smoke. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, milk chocolate, cinnamon, smoke and light vanilla with a smooth lingering smokey chocolate finish.

Cask taster. Dark brown with tan head. Notes of coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate and chilies. Nicely balanced and unpretentious ...

Pretty good, though not great, as this style goes. A bit milder than the imperial stout varieties most breweries do, with restrained peppers and a milk stout body.

Soooo good. Tap at Arsenal. Pours pitch black with limited head and spotty lacing. Nose is espresso, some vanilla. Aromas of vanilla, espresso, chocolate. Taste is medium/big sweet medium bitter. Full creamy mouth with medium carbonation. Also had cask version at same sitting. Limited head no lacing. Liked draft version a little better. Cask was a lot more creamy in the mouth.
