COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Red Apron chef Nathan Anda’s delicious half-smoke; dark & strong lager brewed with 10% Red Apron-smoked malt (smoked over a blend of applewood, cherrywood & hickory) and seasoned with the Red Apron half-smoke spice mix.

Draft. Poured dark brown with a smallish tan head. Aroma and flavor were light roasted malt, moderately smoky, bread, light spice, a bit boozy.

Draft on January 10th at Bluejacket. Pours a dark brown. Lightly smokey aroma. Smokey taste, lightly boozy. Enjoyable.

Taster at the brewery. Pours clear dark brown with a thin white head. Tastes very spiced, like cloves, cinnamon, and other dry spices. Tastes sweet, woody, and lightly smokey. Low/medium body and low carbonation. Smells smokey, woody, earthy, and spiced.

Tap at brewery. Pours clear dark brown with thin, fizzy beige head. Aroma is bready malts, woody notes, apples, spicy hops, fig, light smoke and raisins. Flavor is smooth bready malts, dark fruit sweetness, light caramel, and light smoked meat; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

On tap at the brewery on opening night. Pours a hazy caramel amber with one ring of white head. Nose is brown sugar, light flick of smoke, black pepper, cherry cordial, clove. Smells like fruit cake. Flavor is just like fruit cake, cherry, brown sugar, light smoke, some clove, honey, almost a little buckwheat. Sweet finish.

Draft at the source, opening day. Hazy maroon brown color, tan head. Aroma of burning toast and light caramel, subtle licorice. Taste is sweet and malty with a nice edge of smoke. Very tasty.
