Bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. The aroma is smoke, tar, chili, hard roasted malt, tobacco and coffee. The flavour is quite intense. Hard roasted malt, coffee, tobacco and liquorice. Some chili burn on the tongue. Creamy texture. Long roasted finish with some hops.

Pitch black, light brown head. Aroma: roasted malt, liqourice, dark fruit, some chocolate. OK mouthfeel, bit thin. Roasted maltiness with liqourice and some dark fruits, chocolate, light spice and a pleasant soft bitterness, Ends sweet and roasty.

Clear dark black brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, caramel, chocolate, smoke, black plastic. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, plastic burnt, chili warm finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110117]

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of wood, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks Joergen for sharing.

Bottle at Ungstrup. Black coloured with a medium sized brown head. Roasted aroma of liquorice and caramel with notes of smoke. Roasted flavour of liquorice with notes of smoke and dark chocolate. Dry roasted finish.

clear brown, small light brown head. roasted stuff, faint alc. in the aroma flavor is roasted grains, faint licorice. ends licorice and roasted grains.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours a pitch black with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma, quite some licorice and tar but also some phenols. Solid body, some hard roast malt, dried dark fruits and licorice, but again some unpleasant phenols. Warming, chocolatey finish. Nice but not overly sophisticated. 301110

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and slight spiced. Mild spiced. Smooth chocolate and roasted malt. Vague bitterness lurking through. Ends dry and roasted and chocolate. Dark malty into the far finish.

Pours all black with a fine, staying, creamy yellow-beige head. Complex oaky aroma, light tartness, some roasted malts, oats, mild peity smoke, chocolate, light blackberries. A hint og grapes as well. Lowish carbonation, creamy yet a bit fluffy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and a bit sugary at first, some grapes, coffee, mild smoke. The oak comes through lovely and elegantly. Aftertaste is very nice, lightly vinious, some dark chocolate and a mild burning sensation in the finish. Actually an extremely well-crafted beer with lots of subtle nuances. The chili is used elegantly to spice up the finish, but not ruin the palate. The oak softens up the black malts. And the smoke adds another dimension. Really good.
