0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 jkm (209) - - JUL 13, 2007
Pale yellow/gold with a large frothy white head. Thin bodied with high carbonation. I’m not quite sure how to describe the unpleasant, bordering on foul aroma, flavour and aftertaste. - (500ml can)

Picked this up at some little cornerstore bottleshop when we stopped for gas on our way to Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. How is this a bitter? It’s cheap pale lager all the way. Whatever-- we’re in Tasmania!!!
0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20 Thylacine (517) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - JUL 13, 2007
500 ml can - Clear pale straw/gold. Frothy white head. Watery, gassy, dishwater. It has one great attribute .... it’s ability to make other mass produced pale lagers taste fantastic.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 strappa (55) - Hobart, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2005
Cold filtered says it all absolute crap saying that though i have had a couple of nice classic bitters when they are ice cold on a hot day but u know its not good when they make it in 500ml cans

Cold filter should refer truefully to taste, aroma and sensory filter, because all this beer does is get you drunk. Decent of them to save us time with a 500mL ’Tube’. Typical of mass media beers, flavourless crap!!!
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Jahills (151) - Cambridge (Hobart), AUSTRALIA - NOV 14, 2003
Cold filtered. Say no more. Actually i will also say that this beer is watery, skunky and weird on the palate. Gee can beer really get much worse?
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 bfgill (120) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - OCT 11, 2003
I could already tell this beer would be interesting when I saw you could buy them in 500ml 'tubes'. I agree with nasullivan 'cold filtering' means destroying the beer, I am yet to see an example of a beer that it aids, it does make it more accessible to mainstream consumers, because it tastes more like water. One thing I cant believe is after reading about Orignal Bitter they stopped making that rather than this. cheers

I think the term 'cold filtering' means 'take the flavour away.' Check out the Commercial Description for other gems. I am so tired of these marketing dunces suggesting that such a process gives a taste straight from the cellar. What, when it has flooded and the water mixes in with the cockroach corpses and rat droppings? Oh of course, they then filter that! I agree, it is light in character, almost to the point where you could call it 'Actuary beer'. It achives the little aftertaste by having and equal amount of foretaste.

Better than Carlton Cold but not as good as Tooheys Extra Dry. If you're looking for a cold filtered beer you could do worse but it's nothing to write home about.
