750ml Longneck, poured a light amber. Average aroma but decent body and flavour. Good for the price.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Thylacine (526) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - JUL 7, 2007
375 ml bottle - Golden/amber colour. White, mostly lasting head. Medium carbonation. Sweet malt with a slight honey flavour in the background. Mildly bitter leaving the finish slightly on the sweet side. One of the better Australian macro lagers.
2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jkm (209) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 7, 2007
Orange/amber in colour with a thin white head which rapidly dissapates. Medium bodied with average to high carbonation. Bitter mouthfeel with a slightly metalic aftertaste. Crisp dry finish.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 sarfarl (10) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - MAR 22, 2007
Brilliant draught beer, not done justice outside of northern Tasmania due to only being sold bottled. By far one of the best in the country on tap.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ChrisTurner (204) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 8, 2007
Bottle -- Pours a nice amber colour with quite a decent white head that lasts well and leaves fair lacing. Aroma is gentle with a touch of hops and, perhaps, honey. Pleasant flavour although a bit of a metallic mouthfeel. Definitely better than most macro lagers and thoroughly drinkable.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 homersimpsin (40) - South Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 26, 2007
Not bad, very similar to VB, nothing to get excited about, a good everyday beer that gets the job done.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 strings (377) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 22, 2006
Bottle. Pretty poor, a very mainstream Australian lager taste. Surely just an elaborate marketing ploy to make the premium boags seem a whole lot more premium.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 lasonovich (151) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 17, 2006
Not a bad draught this. A bit flat on the palate and I swear I got a killer hangover from too many one night but it is better than most Aussie cheap ’draughts’. Could be a bit more bitter but generally clean and crisp.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nicko (191) - Ashfield, AUSTRALIA - NOV 21, 2006
750ml bottle. Golden, frothy, crisp with not much newspaper. Good for poker nights.
