COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional full flavoured draught beer, master brewed using a blend of crystal malts and a unique brewing method, which impart a rich, malty character to balance the hop bitterness.

just another cheap australian lager, with the typical chemical flavours, but this ones a little sweeter than most and slightly above average. just been released in WA with the usual advertising campaign. no more VB for me.

Small offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation. Caramelly papery aroma with floral notes. Dry-sweetish resiny caramelly taste with papery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry, and faintly acidic, fruity caramelly aftertaste with papery notes. Decent, but could use less acidity and paper. (0.375l bottle, Taste, Hang Hao, Hong Kong.)

An average australian beer. Goes down easy enough while watching the sport but nothing to write home about.

Bottle: Poured a clear hazy yellow orange with a fluffy white head. Metal and malt aroma. Taste is full flavored malts, metallic hops, and sweet grass.

I drank this because there was nothing else and I felt like a beer with my meal. I don’t think this beer is dry hopped at all hence there is no aroma except some yeast. The flavor has some citrus notes although this is another example of big aussie brewers producing cheap flavourless beer that bottle shops can keep on the shelf for 50 year with out going bad.

On Tap- Served a golden color with a full head and nice lacing. Clean aroma of fresh grain and a bit of fruit sweetness. Nothing fancy. Taste has a mild sweetness up front with fresh grain and bit of bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body. Nice crispness, smooth and quite refreshing. Goes down easy, not bad at all. A nice casual beer that seems good for session drinking as it does not fill you up.

From a 375ml bottle on 28/11/2010. Has a very slight fruity aroma, and a touch more flavour than a most Aussie macro pales, with lingering apple bitterness. Okay for a pale lager, but in the general scheme of things, uninspiring.

Tap at an Irish Pub in Melbourne. Pour is a clear, light amber to light orange with a medium to thin semi-rocky, white head. Decent lace on the pint. Aroma is malt-forward, some honey, oatmeal, sugar. Taste is quite richer than expected- some fairly heavy cinnnamon, nutmeg, and gingerbread abound on what is just the slightest buttery palate. Some honey and diacetyl create faux richness. Palate goes oily from the slight diacetyl but no offensive. I thought this was pretty solid. Though, I’m not sure if this belongs in the pale lager category. There is just enough amber color and just enough malty richness, toast, and butter that I am tempted to say Vienna or something similar.

Decent enough when compared to other breweries ’draughts’. Slightly sweet, grainy lager. Not terribly much going on but it goes down easy enough. Meh.
