COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A European style lager brewed from the finest quality pilsner malts. This beer is fermented at a lower temperature than most Australian lagers, and employs an extended maturation period. These combine together with a mixture of kettle and late hopping to yield a crisp pale lager

James Boags Premium Lager has a thin, white head, somewhat of a lacing sheen left on the glass, a hazy, yellow-golden appearance, streaming bubbles, and some suspended brown particles visible throughout. The aroma is of pungent, sweet barley malt, sugar, and white bread. Flavor is of sweet, bold malt, white bread, a shadow of paper, and a nice balancing hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium, and James Boags Premium Lager finishes semi-dry, refreshing, and supremely drinkable. Overall, this is another very good beer. Buy it, and try it! RJT

Light fresh springy tasting. Looks like a lager. Tastes like a lager. Fresher and more spirited than some commercial lagers. Would be my preference. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mass market lager, not much else to say, blends with the rest. Thirst quenching ability is saving grace.

Golden, very clear, nice good looking head. Watery, light bitter, slightest if yeast character. Low bitterness. Not bad actually for what it is. (Bottle from Saveur Bire)

9.2.2015. Pours golden with white head. Aroma and taste have some grain, grass and light malts and hops. Basic stuff.

When I used to drink just lagers I found this to be above the average aussie mainstream. Now after trying more beer styles and going back to Boags it is pretty pedestrian. Too sweet, not much flavour but ok on a hot day.

375ml bottle. Clears golden with a medium head. Slightly sweet nose. Refreshing aroma, good hops, a bit of malts, not boring indeed.

Best Australian Beer on the market! Smooth, consistent, almost equal to Bavarian beers in quality!

330ml bottle (Aussie Backpackers Pub, Riga). Clear golden colour. Small size, white head, stays. Hop extract, sweet, corny aroma. Smells like proper low-quality macro. Hop extract, corny, papery taste. Not good. Never again!
