Bottle on the Eurostar back to London with Leighton and James (thanks Leighton). It pours deep red-brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is sweet caramel, various dark fruit, wood and booze. The taste is caramel, sweet dark fruit, alcohol warmth, dust and wood, with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not great, a bit 1D.

Bottle shared with Paul and James on the Eurostar back from Brussels. Pours dark, red-brown with a medium, off-white head. Some earthy sugar in the snout, with toasty caramel. Big sweet flavor, some dark sugar, slightly syrupy and boozy, with sugary leaves. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm, sugary finish, with sweet dough, some alcohol, toffee, a bit of dirty bitterness that lingers amidst the sugar malts. I love Dubbels but not a huge fan of this one.

Taste: sweet malty start , some skunky yeast , bit of salty caramel, end is sweet

33 cl. bottle @ home. Pours brown with an off-white head. Smell is moderately yeasty. a lot of caramel and yeast in the taste with medium carbonation. nice dubbel

Bottle 33 cl, Cracked Kettle. Pours clear deep dark amber with a great creamy tanned head leaving lace. Aroma is malty, sweet, bready, toasted, fruity, buck wheat and fidges. Flavor is malty, toasted, bready, caramel, sweet, fruity and bitter. Finishes bitter sweet and malty.
