Thought it had gone off because the head was gone in seconds. Pity because I don’t mind the beer otherwise. Leans heavily towards the malt. Reminds me of a little of a Newcastle Brown without being as dark. Bit like a late night slapper, just needs a decent head.

Medium amber clear with a small v short lasting head. Medium strong biscuity corn grain malt on opening of bottle fading to a light celeriac phenolic, and even alcoholic malt whiskeyish aroma. Medium smooth very low carb almost flat body. light toffee caramel xtal malts with a very disappointing bland soft watery flat finish. Almost zero hops. Has more of Brit ale like than a lager character.

So, a beer with grunt. So the description on the bottle says. Pretty impressive lable with the raised rock thingy. Thanks to mullet for confirming that it wasn’t just my glass in the Windsor. Looks like a sherry. The nose is better though with a syrupy character that reminds me of the days when I homebrewed and used some demerrara sugar in the brew. Its out of balance and too malty without a hop perspective

Clear amber colour. Terrible head retention. Toffee/honey aroma, with some apples and stale cardboard in the background. Honey and crystal malt flavour, no real hop character with a kind of tangy finish which is pretty decent. Prickly carbonation. A bit one-dimensional but nice enough.

Gold colour with a small diminishing white head. Quite a yeasty malty aroma especially for a lager. Flavour is also fairly malty, not much bitterness at all. I guess it's ok but at AU$4.25 for a domestic 330ml bottle I expect something better.
