In short: A basic and typical refreshing hefe, nothing more, nothing less. Enjoyable.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy yellow-blond body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nose of fresh bananas with notes of cloves and coriander. Taste packs a decent amount of crisp wheat (this is not a watery 4.9% hefe) with also flavors of lemonade, fresh bananas, a light tartness. There was also a light spiciness (coriander, cloves) but less than in the aroma. Overall this was very much a basic by-the-book hefe, average for the style. Enjoyable beer. A fine beer from this nice brewpub in the middle of nowhere. It’s a long drive to get to there but don’t worry I’m a responsible driver, I always drink beer using a straw so I don’t lose view of the road while driving.

Glass on tap at Bobcat.
Appearance : Hazy pale yellow.
Aroma : Wheat and light yeasty phenols. Nice wheat.
Taste : Wheat and light citrusy notes. Light yeast. Nice wheat on finish.
Overall : Nice wheat profile. Not very yeasty and estery. Refreshing and drinkable. Correct but nothing special.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a hazy yellowish orange with a bubbly white head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma had a yeasty note with some sweet wheat and banana with a hint of backing citrus peel. Flavor was similar with wheat and banana in the start and more citrus peel coming out in the finish.

Tap at ACBF. Notes of banana, wheat, clove, and and a touch of citrus fruit. Really a decent hefeweizen, but nothing earth-shattering.

(Rating #3124)
