Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, some spice hops. Taste is sweet medium malt-honey/caramel, secondary spice hops. Syrupy medium body. Well done and dead on for style. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Draft at the brewpub - Poured a clear golden amber in color with a small white head. Aroma was malty and honey-like. Flavor was a bit too sweet for me and I felt like it needed some hops to balance it out. Finish is lingering and sweet. Not my favorite, but fairly true to the style... TaktikMTL (2798), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2009 En fût. (Rating #5232) Glouglouburp (2897), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2009 In short: A smooth strong lager with lots of caramel/honey. A bit too sweet for its own good.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a very small off-white head
In long: Smooth sweet malts with a mushy cake sensation. Rather sweet, a bit too much so for me. Flavour of crème caramel and honey. A short light bitterness but no dryness. Alcohol apparent but not bother some. Decent brew on the first few sips but after half my glass the sticky sweetness started to bother me and I was already looking at the beer menu to order something else. That MartinT dude before me seemed to have liked it a lot more than I did. But really, would you trust someone that is friend with me? I wouldn’t

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 19, 2009 My Bottom Line:
The distinguished malts’ honeyed cereal flavors and the spicy noble hop bite of this Heller Bock are complemented by a smooth drinkability and subtle alcohol warmth.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thick sheet of foam protects the clear golden.
-The body is beautifully carved; svelte yet with a few nice curves at the right places.
-The calculated effervescence makes this almost quenching, even though it is obviously strong.
-This brew’s authenticity is very impressive. Yet another lager from Bobcat I enjoyed thoroughly!
