COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong pale ale style is inspired from a Scottish example of Whiskey Ale whereas a portion of the grist is barley that was dried in the malting process with heat from a peat fire. Scottish malt and limited use of hops accentuates the full body and sweetness of the final beer. Created as a tribute to our friend, Greg Noonan of Vermont Pub & Brewery. OG 1.073 IBU: 14

On tap at Bobcat.
Appearance : Clear copper with small head.
Aroma : Some sugars, dark fruits and hops. Quite sweet. Slightly herbal and resinous.
Taste : Sweet fruits with some hops. Slightly herbal and resinous. Finish is bitter and slightly herbal. Quite dry.
Overall : Nice beer. Nice hops and sugars. Dry and rather drinkable.

Draft at the brewpub - I have to admit right up front... I did not like this beer and neither did my son (fellow taster). Both the aroma and flavor had this "barnyard" character that was just unpleasant to the senses. Other beers from this session were good to great, but this one "missed"... by a lot... Greg Noonan was a wonderful brewer and I am sorry that this beer, in my opinion, did not do adequate justice to his memory. As a brewer myself, I know that all of my efforts have not been appreciated by others...
