Bottle: Medium sized, pretty vast and slowly changing creamy vanilla lish colored foamy hea on top of a dark beer. It’s color is hazy deep red ish brown but when held into a light source it’s color changes into a more hazy ruby colored beer. Aroma is not bad: toffee, light toast, dark ripe fruits like raisin, berries and strawberries, a hint of barley malts, some caramel, hint of soft spices like sprinkles of cinnamon and a hint, a hint of something very light liquorice a like. Flavours is fruity, berries like strawberries, some toast, barley malts, cream, bitters, light sweet, some crispy floral (sour ish ness...), hints of toffee, caramel and liquorice wood. Aftertaste is fruity with again the raspberry, light dry, light floral, some toast, hint of malts and a decent bitterness. Low to medium carbonation, soft light creamy and tingly mouthfeel, a very good medium body which has the power to go towards a fuller one and a nice lighter creamy texture. Guess this beer would be interesting to taste the different years from, ranging from 1 to 5 years. Seems like a nice cellar beer.

Soft malty slightly metallic nose. Pale beige fast disappearing head. Dark copper color. Soft malty fullfilled taste. Some berries. Average hops. Medicine like.

33cl, new brew Anno 2011, from Willems Grobbendonk, complex brew, malty/spicy and slightly sweet/roasted, balanced, hazy, good head, nice brew

Dark brown beer with a small beige head. Aroma of spices and burned malts. Week coffee flavor. Some caramel, dark fruits and notes of burned malts in the aftertaste.

Bottle @ home. Had this beer at home for a while now. Somehow i wasn’t very eager to taste it but here we go. Dark brown with some ruby effects, medium beige to light brown head. Smells raisins, sweet, malts, slightly alcoholic. Tastes sweet, some iron in the taste, malty, raisins and some oak wood. Medium body, good amount of carbo.

(Bottle, Brasserie Lombard, Brussels, 19 Oct 2012) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with toasty grain, dark bread and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with notes of caramel, dark bread, raisins, brown sugar and a finish with a balanced sweetness and a mild bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and balanced. Quite nice.

slit with and thnx to 77 ships pours dark brown, red glow. small foam. no smell taste is chemical, sweet, too much carbo. no real taste... i heard this was suposed to be a stout? i’d call this an abbey beer. who- and i’m not trying to offend something or someone- also have no taste to me...

Pours chestnut brown with very little head. Malty, alcoholic aroma. Fairly alcoholic flavour with some fresh acidic notes but mostly solid malt. Okay beer in small quantities.

Pours dark copper brown with small head. Sweet aroma of prunes, raisins and candy sugar. Taste is equally sweet with dark fruit and caramel. Not very complex and rather overcarbonated.
