COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is the Munich Black, a beer created in 1888 following the ancient Munich tradition. It is distinguished by its intense toasted flavour with a sligthly sweet final touch, an equilibrated beer without the excessive bitterness that other beers of its category have.

Absolut nett zu trinken und eine Art Dessertbier, das mich vollkommen ueberrascht hat. Recht suess, dabei nivht pappig und mit feinen Aromen von Rosine, Plfaume und Malz dahinter. Ueberraschend angenehm, ueberraschend mld, ueberraschend gut.

Pours sparkling black, just like coca-cola. Head is tan and frothy. Aroma is mild: chocolate, coffee, liquorice. Taste is fizzy, a little watery and not so bitter.

Can from a Barcelona supermarket. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: malty, licorice. Taste: svagdricka, malty, brown sugar and caramel, fruit candy, actually a bit boozy despite the moderate ABV.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 4B). Bottle 25 cl - Batch L111200. AROMA: very faint caramel aroma with notes of adjuncts (rice and corn). traces of a metalic aroma are present. APPEARANCE: very dark copper with a garnet tint and translucent. thin tanned head with low retention. TASTE: slightly sweet grainy flavour with very faint caramel notes. low bitterness with a semi-sweet finish. PALATE: thin body with moderate carbonation. OVERALL: a dark lager that doesnt resemble the munich style at all. Resembles just a plain pale lager with food coloring and nothing else, since there are no roasted aromas nor flavors (or extremely faint).

Can/bottle/tap. Hard to get. Was enjoyed mostly in Spain. Medium bodied, malty and hoppy beer. A pleasant beer. When tried several years later- it was still good.
