4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an amazing clear amber. Aroma is of tart dried fruit like cherry and raisin and vinegar. Taste is very fruity with a caramel undertone. Somewhat thin mouthfeel typical of a source beer. Great example of the style.

Smells nice and fruity, wild yeast, sweet smell. Nice amber color, no head, tastes good, but I prefer the other brews I’ve tried from Bockor. Some light sweetness, nice sour taste, low bitterness, good and fruity. I got no criticism here. A nice clean brew to enjoy after a hard day at work.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle received in a trade with Brewerdan, thanks! Nice brown color and at first a big head, then a wispy ring of bubbles around the rim of the glass. The smell is a decent sweet sour almost glue, vinegar, oud bruin for sure. The taste starts out matching the smell but the back end has a strange graininess to it that I can’t get past.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
250 ml bottle. Dark brown and crystal clear. Soft rich bready aroma with hints of rye bread and toffee. Crisp flavours and a very light body. Soda-like, almost. Not entirely unlike a kvass, except for the slight hint of acidity and the funk that hides in the back. Hints of vinegar. Refreshing and very drinkable. Hard to believe that it is 5.5% abv, as it appears a lot lighter. Nice acidity that makes this a very nice beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 oz. bottle. It pours a really nice deep ruby red color with a frothy khaki head. Looks really nice in the glass held up to the light. The aroma is rather malty with some notes of toast and leather backed up by subdued tart vinegar and cherries. The flavor strikes a nice balance between sweet and sour with cherries, lemon, leather, graham cracker and hints of oak. The mouthfeel is velvety with only a mild suggestion of vinegar in the very finish. I really enjoyed this one, especially at $3.50 a bottle. It’s not the most potent sour out there, but it’s still a joy to drink and definitely hits the spot when you’re craving the tart without wanting to spend an arm and a leg. I have a feeling I’ll be getting this again.

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. It pours deep ruby, with a thick light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, charcoal, some tangy dark fruit, fresh berry and mint chocolate. The taste is red wine, tangy dark fruit, light roasted malt, wood, grape, candy and cola, with a very dry finish. Sweet-sour aspect. Medium body and fine carbonation. Very drinkable, fruity and smooth. Tasty.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber pour with an off-white head. A mild red wine vinegar note on the nose, some sweet bread and toffee malt, and notes of dark fruit. Some definite cherry character, too. The flavor has a more pronounced vinegar note and sourness. A lot of red wine vinegar, some sweet raisin and cherry, and toffee malt flavor.
