Bottle - 330ml. Hazy brown body with ruby glints and a thin, off-white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with fruity hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its fair taste carries woody and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Ok.

33cl bottle at bar Brasserie de la Madeleine, Brussels. Absolutely beautiful dark red, brown black, gloomy ruby brew with little beige head. The flavours are full of dark fruits and blue grapes. The taste is lovely soft, even with little malt flavours. The sweet notes are subtle too - for I expected loads of sugarness. The finish is fairly short. Too bad. Yet the spiritful ending with old brown character is not a bad one.

Roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is zoet en licht bitter, chokolade en caramel. Zou iets intenser mogen om echt goed te zijn. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Bottle at Porteuse D’Eau. It pours deep red-brown with a decent pale beige head. The nose is sweet, candy, dried fruits, fruit cake, candy, caramel and caramelized banana. The taste is sweet candy sugar, caramel, raisin, toasty, sultana, date, roasty, alcohol boost and earth with a lightly sweet finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Good Belg Strong.
