Roodbruine kleur met een volle crème kraag. Ruikt fruit, zoetig en mout. Smaakt beetje zoet, herfstfruit, vanille. Iets bittere afdronk.

Red brown ale, cream head. I did not fancy this one. Strange sweetness in the taste, no balance and unclear bitters. No lasting taste.

33l bottle@Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport in Brasserie LeFort glass@approx 6 degrees C (too cold) Pours dark brown with large almost white head with good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, alcohol and dark fruit with a little spice. Taste is roasted with good balance between the sweet - mostly dark fruit - and the bitter. Aftertaste spizy with especially liqourice coming to the forefront with just a little booziness also. Quite highly carbonated with pleasant, round mouthfeel. None of the off tastes - eg. a metallic twang which so often ruins dark beers, so this is a good brew, which became better as it warmed up.

0.33l bottle at home. Bought from Turnhout, Belgium. Pours dark brown with generous fizzy tan head. Smells to raisins, sweet apples, apricot, a lot of licorice, roasted barley, sandalwood and caramel, a hint of alcohol. Some coriander. Taste is sweet with some savory notes. Carbonation above average, palate round, smooth, oily. Aftertaste short, intense, very sweet. A very sweet beer.

Bottle - 330ml. Hazy brown body with ruby glints and a thin, off-white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with fruity hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its fair taste carries woody and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Ok.
