Draft at Hopleaf. Pours dark reddish brown with a thin tan soapy head. Really nice looking beer. Aromas of cherries, vanilla and wood. Taste is foremost cherries but there’s a pervading vanilla sweetness with other notes of sweet fruit and a funky woodiness. This beer is incredibly well balanced and has a great finish; bright and sour. I really enjoyed this beer.

Probably my favorite sour. It tastes like a bunch of sour gummy bears. Probably the most sour beer I’ve had but also one of the best.

11.2 ounce bottle purchased a year ago at Bine & Vine ($5.99). Pours a really nice clear garnet hue with one finger of fizzy grey-khaki foam that quickly reduces to nothing. Aroma of raspberry vinaigrette, spicy soy sauce, tart cherry, and a mild woody funk. Flavor of oaky red wine, tart cherry, tart raspberry, tart cranberry, vinegar, sweet-sour green apple Jolly Rancher, and a bit of caramel. Overall, the tartness beats out the sweetness by a fair margin. Semi-dry finish with lingering fruity sourness. Not to the level of Consecration or Duchesse (correlation with ABV?...this is rather low alcohol), but still a fine representative of the style. (514, 791)

Pours a hazy reddish brown from the bottle with thin ring of off-white lace that doesn’t really stick. Aroma is sour tart funky fruit. Taste follows, not overly sweet and well balanced. Pretty damn good.

Dark chestnut colour with a small, but lasting off-white head. Aroma of cherry, caramel, brown sugar and balsamic vinegar. Dry and acidic flavour with cherry, vinegar and a touch of oak. Rodenbach on speed!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 tfredvik (630) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 3, 2013
Pours a very dark red body, almost brown. The egg-white head is very long-lived and ends up as a partially covering film and a foamy ring that leaves a good amount of lacing. The aroma is quite strong and sour, with mostly fruity notes. Once again I feel that my sour ale vocabulary is rather limited, but I think I find an interesting mix of tart fruits, like sour cherries, and more overripe stuff, like fermented apples. The taste is initially light sour, and the sourness increases in the finish. There is hardly any sweetness, and any bitterness in the finish is covered by the sourness, an acetic feel and a moderate acidity. The sourness and the acidity might be a bit demanding, but the flavours are actually quite gentle and easy to like. There are hardly any complex barnyard notes or anything like that, it’s mostly nice fruity stuff. Again tart cherries, fermented apples and lots of acidic lemon. Also some apple cider vinegar. The mouthfeel is very refreshing. The body is medium, the texture dry and smooth and the carbonation is moderate. A nice one for the summer!

Bottle, bought @ Delirium, Brussels.
Pours lovely, clear chestnut with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, toasted, cherries, sharp tartness. Plums and vinegary apples. Highish carbonation, fine dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour is very tart, very fresh, caramel, apple, cherries, lactic, orangezest. Really nice.
