3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl Bottle at Lost Property. Clear deep red to purple colour, off white head. Aroma of balsamic vinegar, cinnamon, tart red fruits, red grape juice, vanilla, you can tell there’s lambic in there. Flavour is rather tart at first, red fruits, sour lemon, red grapes, very vineous, light vanilla and cinnamon, tart fruity finish. Light bodied. Very tasty Flemish Red.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft. Enticingly tart, gently sweet and fruity aroma, lightly acetic and woody, with notes of cherry and red grape, some definite yeast funk is present here as well. Deep, dark red in color, clear, with a lasting, fine head. Flavor profile is fruity and features a strong degree of sourness throughout, tannic, dry, oaky and with a brief flash of sweetness, more yeast funkiness and farmy character appearing as well. Somewhat winey finish. "Warms" the mouth, with a sufficiently sharp, acidic bite, active on the palate, body is medium. Incredibly flavorful and complex, also stunningly sour. Wow, this was delicious.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a dark reddish amber with a light beige head. Extremely potent aroma. Enticing as well. Very, very sour and tart, with grape, cherry, and apple. Taste is so sour it made my mouth pucker! Cherry and apple come out the most, grape is still there, with vanilla notes underneath. This is quite oily and sticky when you drink it. Carbonation is softer, yet is easily apparent. And needless to say the aftertaste is strongly sour and tart. It lingers a long time also. I must say that this is the most extreme example of this this style that I have ever tasted. If you like these, you will be thrilled. I am beside myself that I have found something this delicious.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’m not usually a fan of this style - but I was impressed here. The body was a very nice and clean ruby red with light bubbles. The aroma filled your face with rich cherries, cocoa and earth - a lot like a bold red wine. The taste was as sush, but with a distinctive tart finished followed by a lingering yeast aftertaste. Nicely done.

When I started getting into sours a friend suggested this beer as a reference. This beer is not over tart, goes down easy, and is very refreshing. Please try this one if you want to taste some sour goodness.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml. bottle. Pours a thick ivory head, long retention, with extensive lacing, over a clear, reddish copper (SRM 20) body....nose is acid, cherry, barnyard funk....taste is dried cherry, hints of plum, light cocoa, chocolate, hints of vanilla, medium acetic/lactic acid sourness, musty funk, minimal hints of sweetness as the sour ebbs on the finish....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation adds tingle to the sourness. This meets the style of a Flanders Red Ale (part of the larger Sour Ale grouping) exactly. The sourness, complex aromas and flavors of this beer are exceptional. It is quite delicious. BJCP 8/3/16/4/7
